About this drive
Malana, an ancient village of Himachal Pradesh, situated by the side of the Parvati Valley, it is a secluded village that does not mingle with the other villages in the vicinity. Nestled in luscious greenery and surrounded by snow-clad mountains, Malana is perched at an altitude of 9,500 ft above the sea level. The influx of tourism and ignorance of locals has created a huge solid waste problem, it can be seen at the entrance of the village, in the streets and at many slopes. It is our first cleaning drive in the village and we would like to continue the process. A village with an important historical & cultural heritage should not be reduced into a pile of the dump. It is our duty to nurture the Himalayas sustainably.
