Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead and manage integrated waste management projects, including Material Recovery Facility (MRF) operations, Information, Education & Communication (IEC) activities, and door-to-door waste collection initiatives. This role requires a strong leader with hands-on experience in solid waste management, community engagement, and multi-stakeholder coordination, ensuring seamless execution from field to facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage overall waste management project operations.
  • Oversee MRF operations, machine maintenance, and staff deployment.
  • Supervise door-to-door waste collection activities.
  • Lead IEC team to conduct awareness and behavior change campaigns.
  • Ensure proper waste segregation at source and at MRF.
  • Coordinate with recyclers, vendors, and disposal agencies.
  • Liaise with local government bodies, RWAs, and community leaders.
  • Train and manage staff across IEC, collection, and MRF teams.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports.
  • Optimize logistics and collection routes for efficiency.
  • Handle end-to-end project execution and day-to-day problem-solving.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in waste management projects.
  • Knowledge of MRF operations and waste segregation techniques.
  • Experience in IEC activities and community engagement.
  • Ability to lead and train teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with government waste regulations and guidelines.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Degree/Diploma in Environmental Science, Waste Management, or related fields.
  • Experience working with NGOs, ULBs, or private waste firms.
  • Knowledge of waste processing machinery and logistics.
