f you have ever visited Kullu, you would know that Bijli Mahadev is a famous sacred temple in the region. Due to its beautiful panoramic view and mythical stories of Shiva temple, it’s quite obvious that people love to climb this short trekking route of Bijli Mahadev. Every year thousands of tourists and devotees visit this enchanting place that offers the 360-degree wide view of entire Kullu Valley.
But the sad part is that despite dustbins been installed by the SSB unit, Kullu throughout the trekking route, the place is marred by the disposal of plastic bottles and garbage all around. And 90+ sacks of collected garbage during the recent clean drive is the proof that we are slowly turning such a beautiful, serene and holy place into the big dump yards.
A thank you will never be enough for these soldiers who came forward to raise the standards of our country no matter what the issue is. Go to any cantonments it is the cleanest and that’s the message they are trying to reflect. They have installed dustbins along the route and do a regular clean up. Though they themselves are so capable but our team is honored to provide some extra hands.
Soldiers have the most hectic schedule in our country considering all the parameters yet they devote their time in cleanliness and we people are so reluctant to clean our own village.
How long will we survive on dependency ?
How long will we need outsiders to clean our mess ?
Taking responsibility is the only initiative we need right now.
Healing Himalayas Foundation is really thankful for the soldiers of “Sashastra Seema Bal” for taking this initiative. We will continue this journey along with you and bringing sustainable solutions.
Be responsible whenever you travel and whereever you travel to.
Please understand it takes few seconds to throw something around, but it takes millions of years for plastic to decompose. Stop littering before it’s too late.
