We’re back with yet another cleaning drive in the month of October! We’re hoping for you to be a part of it, if you couldn’t join us the last few times.
Below are the details for you to go through:
Date: 26th October to 29th October
Meeting point: Nauradhar ( 3 hours from Salon )
Day 1: on 26th October, reach Nauradhar. Accommodation in a homestay, where we stay the night. (including dinner) Advisable to reach by evening 5pm.
Day 2: on 27th October, we go for the cleaning drive. The distance we cover during our trek is of 18kms, that way, we will start early in the morning around 7:30 am after breakfast, carrying our packed lunch. Through the day, we ascend and clean the ‘first half’. Accommodation for the night is in a Dhramashala at the Churdhar top. Dinner included
Day3: on 28th October, we start to descend after breakfast, cleaning the remaining rest ‘second half’ of the trek route. After that, we will carry all the garbage to the base village. We should reach there by the evening. Following which, the volunteers can follow up on their own travel plans or remaining expeditions. Meanwhile, our core team will leave to take the garbage to Shimla waste treatment plant, as Solan still lacks this facility.
Price: Rs. 2000, including breakfast on 27th and 28th, dinner on 26th and 27th and accommodation for 2 nights.
Things to remember:
- Carry steel bottles
- Carry a lunch box, will come in need for Day2
- Try not to carry any plastic based food wrappers or bottles etc. , if you do, make sure to keep the waste with yourself and dispose of it properly.
- Wear comfortable clothing
- Stay with the group while the cleaning campaign
- Don’t forget to bring with you, your passion for the Himalayas!!!
